R.G. "Robert" Vyverberg - Ltjg

Patrols ?

"Robert George Vyverberg's father was John C. Vyverberg, Jr and his mother was Susanna (Ameele) Vyverberg.  Uncle Bob had a very dry sense of humor and, if you weren't paying attention, you'd miss the joke.  He loved fishing on Keuka Lake and he liked to cook... my father, John C. Vyverberg III, did as well.

My uncle was in the USNR starting on June 27, 1941 and entered into active service on May 17, 1942.  He was honorably separated from service on May 24, 1946.  But the truly interesting thing is, the record shows that my uncle also served on the USS Bumper SS-333, a Balao class submarine that is about the same size as a Gato class submarine."
