B.A. "Ben" Branum Jr - RM3

Patrols 6 - 9

"Just found your site, I think this is really nice.  My uncle, Ben Branum, Jr. is still on this boat.  He is the youngest of my mothers' brothers and sister.  My Mom still has hope that the Snook will be found and she and her sister will at least know where he rests.  My Uncle "Sonny Boy" (the only name I've heard him called) and I have the honor of being the only two in the family that have served in the US Navy.  I saw action in the same part of the world "Sonny Boy" was in.  I rode river patrol boats in Vietnam.  Thanks again for your site and I will tell Mom about it.  She and her sis are the only living relatives of "Sonny Boy."  The two other brothers were also in WW ll, one in the air corp, the other was a Marine, he fought at the "canal" and Iwo Jima among others.  Sailor, rest your oar."
