"Our Archivist did a double check of the Harry Julian file, and was able to get an ID on Harry F. Julian, TM3, (from the crew photo).  Attached is a close up scan from the original photo in the Julian collection.  Julian's handwritten caption on the back of the photo reads: 'top row - palm branch sticking out on right side of head - only half a face - Harry F. Julian'

 

Some original letters were mailed to here, his hometown.  In one of the letters he mentions Gambardella coming on board as well as your Uncle (Vic) eating some smelly sardines sitting next to him.  I will also get some scans out to you on that as well.  He also sent some photos home with some ID on them so my Librarian will scan them off to you in the near future to add to your site."
