N.E. "Ned" Browning - MoMM3

Patrols 8 - 9

"My Uncle Ned is still dearly missed by my Dad and his remaining siblings.  He looks at photos and thinks of him on a daily basis.  I'll talk to my Dad to get more info and photos.  I looked at the Snook crew group photo, and I remembered that my Dad, Lindy Browning, had said, that Uncle Ned wasn't there for the photo.  He was on leave at the time, back home in Ashland, Alabama.  We have photos from time at home, one of which is framed and hanging on one of the dining room walls.  It shows him sitting on a dark horse in his white uniform, with what looks like an aura of white light all around him, but not the horse.  One tragedy is that both my Grandmother, and my Dad had saved all the letters that were sent to them by Uncle Ned in an old cedar chest.  One day, my grandmother in a fit of sorrow placed the majority of them on the trash pile next to the barn and burned them.  My Dad managed to save just a few of them prior to that.  Needless to say we are all still greatly saddened by this when ever we think about Uncle Ned."
